Chris has been working on bikes professionally since 2006, when he started wrenching and teaching youth mechanics at Blackstone Bicycle Works. He’s a Hyde Park native, & Kenwood alum.
Dan is the most likely to be in the back of the shop working on your tune-up. He’s worked in shops across the city (Kozy’s, Specialized) but has been at Small Shop since day one.
Germin is the jack of all trades at Small Shop, meaning he can help with everything from a complicated repair to your search for a new bike. He doesn’t take it personally when you call him Jeremy, but it’s pronounced Ger·man, like the language.
Max is the only racing champion on our staff; he was the 2018 IL State Champion in cyclocross. These days he races around the city on his ebike or his fixie and when he’s at Small Shop, he’s great at guiding you to whatever you need.
